Telescopes for public

I hope it is OK to post this here, if not please excuse me and I will not bother you again.

I have not been able to locate a Central Coast Astronomy Club

The Killcare Surf Club NSW is holding a Moon Rise non-profit community function on 4/10/09. What we would like is for one or two Astronomical telescopes to be mounted on our Surf Club deck that night to observe the moon and planets. We face east. Would also require someone to operate them and give an some basic astronomical information. We can't pay you, Surf Clubs are always broke, but perhaps we could give you something to eat.

I would appreciate any info or recomendations you could make.

Regards

Michael

Hi Michael

The 3RF (http://www.3rf.org) have telescopes available for public viewing nights, and a few of their reps are located on the central coast.

Send a message to John Bambury (ausastronomer) and he'll be able to hook you up.
