M42 from this morning.

M42 taken with my Canon 40D.

7x5 minutes + 11x15 seconds iso800 on the ED80.
Cooled in my coolerbox.
Stacked in DSS and processed with CS4.

Hey Mill that is a fine effort indeed, you must have got up early or stayed up late to capture this one, or do you have horizon to horizon skies.

I stayed up all night to do this, also did ngc253 and the Helix neb before M42.
Pretty much stuffed now because i had to get out of bed at 10:00 am.
Might have another go tonight if it is clear.

Wonderful detail and great colour - very natural looking ... and I can even make out the 4 stars of the trapezium !

Lovely colour and detail. Did you use any star bloat processing? That would make this great image even better IMHO.

Very nice Martin. Your images have improved so much. This is a real hard target to get right and this is a prety good job. By far your best M42. Great to see.
