Looks like a sloth....just rotated the piccie to get a better view. May have lost all its hair for some reason.

Reminds me of a similar thing that happened last year. Some bizarre looking creature washed up on a beach which made international headlines.

It turned out it was a hoax. A ploy set up by a marketing company or some such to advertise something or other.

It does indeed redemble a sloth. Could be a new species or suffering some ailment. Guess we'll never know as a bunch of ignorant a**holes killed it rather than finding someone smarter to deal with it.
