$ntuninstallKBxxxxxxx directories.....

Hi,

I need some information regarding the $ntuninstallKBxxxxxxx directories under the Windows directory. Each of there directories ranges from 2mb to 7mb possibly some higher... and I have heaps of them on the computer. Do these files actually do anything or do they sit there hogging my space on my computer. I have a 40gb HDD and only 7mb free now but I would like to free a little more up to do a little storm movie.

If they just sit there and ddo nothing why have them, and can I get rid of them....??

ummm, probably not, when windows installs one of its service updates, it puts those uninstalls directories there. Now I would think that there should be no reason to undo a update, but by deleting these directories, i am unsure of the ramifications??

were you windows xp??

try the disk cleanup with the standard options but also compress old files, that should help, also clearing hi
