Solar scope

Reading the review in the lastest A *ST about the Corondo PST ha scope it would sure be nice to see views offered but as much it looks safe along with other filters etc i just dont have the confidence for direct viewing except for projection type observing . Came across this product offered by Frontier Optics that looks neat and fits the bill http://www.frontieroptics.com/SolarScope.html

GAA's Solar Scope

Hi Aragorn
We have a "Sunspotter" projection solar scope, which we put to good use during the Venus transit.
I had the same reservations as you about direct solar observing. That was until the first time I had a look through a filtered scope, now I'm hooked.
The detail of a big sun spot is awesome
However for school presentation i prefer to use the "Sunspotter" as it does not give the wrong idea, especially to younger kids.

The attached picture says it all
