Paul it was a relief at last to get a clear evening without a hint of cloud interruption although there was spells of gusty breezes but by 10pm it was steady and the seeing and transparency were pretty good .Give it a go Andrew and try using the hard enhanced Kernal filter and use the sliders and histogram , its a fine balancing act and worth experimenting with.John the autostar/lpi program is fairly straightforward to use , the program did the stacking {around 400 images each} and i just adjusted the settings .I tried a Toucam last night as well and i was getting a decent image on the screen through K3ccdtools but got a little frustrated with the workings of the program got to sit down and read the manual.

You mean there is a manual with that program? Wow, I had to learn how to use it all by myself. Where is this mystery manual? Let me know if there is anything I can help you with Stuart?

LOL geez hope there is one i think being to eager was the factor but ill see how i go next time thanks for the offer though Paul .One thing though with the Toucams housing where you screw the adapter into do you find you get plastic particles coming loose because of the metal adaptor scoring the surface {i slighly cross threaded once}

Yeah you got to watch the plastic. I screwed mine in but backed it off a little and since then have not taken it out. I keep the filter clean with IPA solution and my brushed for cleaning my camera. This gets rid of the dust motes.
