Camping/Observing sites Central NSW?

I'm just wondering if anyone has done any touring/observing out along the Lachlan Valley Way, Condobolin, Lake Cargelligo, for example?
On my way home to Victoria from IISAC2009 at Lostock I'm heading over that way and will have my 12" dob on board, seems to me I should take advantage of a couple of nights with hopefully really dark skies.

I'm looking for a good camping and observing spot a little way off the main road, if anyone has any suggestions I'd appreciate it.

Using Google maps and Google Earth, I've picked out Kiacatoo State Park as a possible. Anybody know that area?

I can't really go anywhere too rough, the wife would have a fit if I damage her new BF Falcon!

Cheers
Chris
