These images are straight out of Registax as captured, with "Dennis wavelets" applied, and a 5 pixel stroke around the edge to mask the wavelet artifacts in PS CS3. No curves or levels.
Looking at them on my desktop monitor, I think I'll have a go at reprocessing them. I think the "Dennis Wavelets" were a bit over the top... they looked alright on the laptop but they look a bit "gritty" to me on the big monitor.
It takes a little bit of getting used to in registax. You either can't see the whole frame or you zoom in and can't see the detail as well. I'll get used to it... ...and doesn't it slow the lappy down during optimisation!
Wow – you’ve captured some fantastic lunar real estate there. I love #2 with Gassendi; the detail in the rilles on the fractured floor is fabulous, it is one of my favourite craters.
Another favourite is looking down the throat of Copernicus in #6. Top stuff, do I see a mosaic in this set?
Congratulations Al on your DMK41 images - wow these imagers provide a great field of view. We must have been out playing at a similar time last night.
I am looking forward to your final processed images - there is lots of detail there now!
Thanks for sharing and I hope you love your new toy for years to come.
A couple of them do look a bit peppery, not sure if thats a word.
Massive field Al, you just have to have a go at Moon map. With such a big field it wouldn't take many images to it and with the resolution that you have it would be a knockout.

You do, you do! I started working across the terminator, but when I got to Copernicus coming back on the second row pass I had to adjust exposure, so I might just get the terminator alone.

Yes, of course you should... but that's OK I know what its like.

I think we probably were out at about the same time.
I'm sure I can do better. I'm a bit disappointed I didn't spot that I was a bit harsh on the wavelets. Copernicus might benefit from a bit of curves and levels too.

Thanks Trevor. I am a mosaic-panorama-phile so it is a project on my list.
I'm reprocessing the images I did last night, with gentler wavelets, and maybe a histo stretch and gamma adjustment for those than can handle it. In the meantime here's some mosaics...
These were all taken at f/25 (C8, 2.5x Powermate, UV/IR filter, DMK 41). The seeing was much more noticeable at higher magnification, so some have "Dennis Wavelets" applied, and others have "Al Wavelets" applied.
(Dennis wavelets = Gaussian Linear 1=20, 2=10
Al Wavelets = Gaussian Linear 1=20, 2 to 6=10)
