Jupiter Aug 27th

Hi All,

Imaged Jupiter on Aug 27th, conditions were clear as a bell and no wind however when looking at the live feed from my DMK the jetstream was making its presents felt, sending ripples through the image.

This image was about the average quality that I captured for the night, the large image scale really exacerbates any problems with the seeing, however there is still enough detail present to make it worthwhile.

Thanks for looking
Regards
Trevor

Nice image for the conditions, Trevor. It was a similar story in Adelaide that night. Looked promising initially but didn't deliver.

Cheers Kev.

Thanks Graeme, the seeing is generally pretty good out this way and often is stable for hours at a time but not on this occasion. I suppose I can't really complain as, even in this bad run of weather lately, I have still had good seeing at least every week or so.

Thanks Kev, yep, concentrating on Jupiter at the moment, collecting data for various international groups. Looking forward to re-acquiring Saturn in November or December.

Thanks Lester, even in iffy conditions I reckon gains can be made to my technique by spending time fine tuning the capture process.
