Needed: shearers accommodation

After christmas (January) looking to go scoping for a few days west of the ranges (central tablelands).

Would rather give some money to struggling farmers for the use of their shearers accommodation for a few days that to go near caravan park or motel.

Anybody know any of these struggling farmers who i can contact?? Others can also join in the mini-star party if they are inclined.

G'Day Arthur,

Hmmm I don't know of anyone in this area that still has shearers quarters... maybe further out west.

Keep in touch with your plans. If it doesn't clash with when we are away on holidays, you're welcome to drop in here.

Al.

So what happened to Arkaroola ?

Or is this for on the way?

Anyway, I may be able to line up a small group stay at a remote property between Dunedoo and Dubbo.

I have been there once before and skies were very nice.

Exclamation Hi Allan

Had another look at arkoroola and weighed up the 2-3 days drive each way for a stop of only 3 night, can probably save on petrol and time and get somewhere closer with equally or near equally dark skies, what do you think??

Hi arthur,
Yeah, a long trip. I was hoping to find some dark clear skies on the trip over (and back) to sorta extend it.

The place near Dunedoo is about 25k south of Cobbora.
It is seasonal wokers hut.
I will have to check with owner if will be vacant then.
Electricity, water. No bunks.

Sounds like Octane would be in.
Probably could take another 3 or 4.
I will find out ASAP, and post some pics if you like.

January New Moon

The boss gave a tentative approval for us to use the farm in January around new moon.
He said he will get back with a definite shortly.
I am open as to duration of visit.
Probably depend on what others want.

We can probably handle about 10 without too much problem.

Looks good to me too.

January is a busy time for me usually, but I am very interested in getting away with all you mugs again . Especially to some darker skies.

Keep this thread going to inform us or maybe start another in Observing sessions ????
