Pretty steady seeing in Adelaide last night with only a slight jetstream. Seeing probably about 7.5 at its best. Callisto was just emerging from Jupiter's shadow. This is probably my best Jupiter image so far. Red channel included as well.
Wow – that is one of the best Jupiter images I have seen! Excellent work, the detail is quite extraordinary and the processing looks so smooth and natural.
That image is awesome. Really great colours and exceptional detail - it reminds me of a Cassini image I saw years ago. You must be very pleased with you efforts - post some more stuff!
Superb Graeme, wish I had been well enough that night to image too. That said these images are great. Certainly your best work to date and I am very glad you have achieved this. Congratulations.
Thanks for all the kind comments. I've spent several hours going through some more of the data. This image is from a few minutes earlier (Callisto was still in Jupiter's shadow) and I think I've achieved a bit more fine detail in the processing, albeit with a little more graininess.
The reprocess is nice, maybe a tad grainy like you said but very nice indeed. You should probably adjust the background levels a bit to make it a bit cleaner.
