Hey ya, tried myself first hand at using DDS to stack bunch of pictures I took this evening. Pretty impressive I must say at my first try (been trying ALOT OF TIMES just to get something like this). Used a 70mm lens on Canon 5D Mark II in capturing this. 30 stacks light image at 1s F2.8 25600 ISO with another 30 dark to produce the following (attached i think).

Now the question is...what in the world did i just take?! i cant make it out at all. all i know is this was at 10-20 degree off east from my zenith (or exactly overhead of me) at roughly 8pm. any ideas?

That's the Milky Way, Ken.

It's the central bulge through Sagittarius and Scorpius.
