What ya get for Xmas

Ok all the big kids out there start this one off, everyone at my place are still in bed and I've not had any presents yet, drats , the kids are all grown up, one moved out sometime ago and the other is a nurse who is working today, so it's not like the good old days when they'd be up at dawn

I bought a jack-hammer.
Before I can start the observatory, I have to do lots of digging. Again

It is too expensive to hire... so I bought one.
Not good for the joints, but perfect workout to get a 6-pack

A Sonic Screwdriver and a scented candle!
A fitted sheet set, a bottle of port, some smelly bath stuff and Dr Karl's "Curious and Curiouser".

I got to sleep in late, again.

No kids or family to annoy me. I've called everyone I need to so the rest of the day is all mine

I have a chicken cooking for lunch and might even open a bottle of champagne to go with it.

Merry Christmas to all.

A 3' fish tank and fish that work out to something like $1500 a kg. And a Stephen Hawkings Universe DVD.

Adrian
And it's raining so I will be watching the DVD later after lunch

I got a Sun Disc sundial, 2 Fred Watson books, cash, a summer motorcycle jacket, 2 boxes of seashells (chocolate praline type - the sort of seafood I like!) and a big bag of cashews.

I got a David Attenborough life of birds bluray boxset off the kids. A west brom shirt off the missus. But biggest gift for me is the look on the kids faces as they open their gifts.

My wife and half the family here for the day, and I couldn't ask for more!

But I did organize for my wife to give me a copy of Phil Harrington's new book, Cosmic Challenge, Cambridge University Press, hot off the press published 2011, magnificent!

Happy and safe Christmas and New Year to everyone!

Cheers
Chris

I was reading a thread on CN in the Stellar Media forum, http://www.cloudynights.com/ubbthrea.../o/o/fpart/all
Checked out the title on eBay and found a copy in the UK for just $26, can't beat that, selling locally for $83 plus postage!
And yes, the publication date printed in the book is 2011, October 2010 elsewhere , how the bookshop in the south of England had copies at the price I paid, I do not know!
Check it out at: http://www.angusrobertson.com.au/boo...teurs/9415441/
Cheers
Chris
