Moon, Mercury and Saturn

A nice grouping in tonight's twilight sky.

The 2-day old moon, with plenty of Earthshine...with Mercury nearby (to the nearby upper right) and Saturn to the lower right, just at the edge of the brighter twilight.

Canon 40D, 70-200mm f4 IS USM and minimal processing in CS3.

I really enjoy seeing these wider fields and the earthshine cradled in the arms of a slender crescent moon makes this a very atmospheric photo; very nicely composed too.

Cheers

Hi Matt

Great images - I thought you had also captured a meteor or the like - I saw a short line above the Moon - cat hair!

Like it Matt,

Any astro shot with a palm tree in it works for me, the subtle colouring of the Sunset also looks good.

Regards
Trevor
