Had another play around with the 50D, this time ensuring the cables were a bit more in order (to try and eliminate the horizontal banding I had the other week).
6x 8min with the 50D (and IDAS P2 LPS filter) with the ED120 at ISO800 (plus darks), stacked in DSS plus a quick and nasty process in PS.
In terms of the horizontal banding, it does seem a lot better than my initial run!!
