Tak 35-Flattener

Hi,

I am considering to get a Tak 35-Flattener in the future so was trying to get some information on the required distance between ccd chip and flattener. No luck so far through google.

Can anyone kindly point me to the right direction?

A constant question for Tak gear. Why they don't put this info on their website??

Tak Uncensored group could tell you. Its a yahoo group.

Its probably 86.2mm which is a common Tak distance. The other one they use is 106mm.

Nice find Beren. Anacortes is the closest thing Tak has to a comprehensive English manual.
Valuable. Over the years I am amazed at how many times that sort of question has had to be asked as it is the first question you need answered if you need any sort of adapter made up for your setup.

Ashley at Precise Parts knows all these things and can make any adapter you need at the correct distance.

Thanks so much guys. I been reading though as much as i could here is what i gathered (may be some one can correct me because its proving to be a more difficult than what i initially expected):

When using reducer + CCD combination
-----------------------------------------
TOA-130R Reducer: required metal distance to ccd chip is 83.7mm
+ CA-35: adds 27.6mm distance
+ Wide mount T adapter: I am not quite sure about this one. I saw a few on web but none had the length spec.
+ Custom adapter if required
+ QHY8 (21mm)


When using Flattener + CCD combination
-----------------------------------------
2.7" Flattener for Takahashi TOA-130S: required metal distance to ccd chip is 117.5mm
+ CA-35 (50.8): I couldnt find any lenght spec on this yet
+ Wide mount T adapter: same ...not sure yet
+ Custom adapter if required
+ QHY8 (21mm)

Hi Sad,

For what scope ? If it is for a TOA 130 then there you have 2 adapters. One is called a flattener and the other one is a reducer/flattener.

If is the plain flattener for the TOA 130 then the back metal distance is 117.5mm

If it is the reducer/flattener then the metal back distance os 83.7 mm

and the extender 1.6x is also 117.5mm

Again, thank you every one. I think I have all the information I need for now to make a decision. The Reducer/flattener will be used on TSA-102.

The flattener will work on a DSLR sized chip but I don't think it will with an STL11 sized chip.

I had one once and sent it back as it vignetted badly on an STL11 camera.
