Mars with Dobbie

Hey everyone

I had another go at mars this morning. Taken with my 10" dobbie with no tracking.

First Picture: I had a bit of a muck around with photoshop for processing. Some look ok, and others look really silly but bring out the detail. You be the judge of which you like best!

Second Picture: I wanted to experiment with the zoom capability of my camera. This is at 20X (digital, I know its bad)zoom, which makes it 781.25X magnification. Some detail is shown I guess, but its not too good. I wanna get tracking to test it again!

Third Picture: I noticed a little star beside the planet, and thought "why not" so I over exposed to get it

Any hints for processing? I still have alot to learn. And I really want tracking

Nice attempt Crissyo, I prefer the last one in the series. If you really want tracking, maybe an eq platform like Mikees is the way to go..

@acropolite: I've been looking into an EQ6 for some time now. Still deciding wheather to wait or not.

@davidpretorius: I am using a Panasonic video camera. Its a NV-DS50 if you wanna google it.
