Help with a Mak?

Hi guys, It was the first night last night i got a great picture of the moon from my house with my telescope and it was brilliant. I Can't wait for the full moon, a filter and some awesome new eyepieces...can't imagine what it'll look like then.

Anyway, something strange happened to my focuser when i focused it on the moon a second time. Theres a tiny screw on the side of the focusing knob and it was scrapping along the OTA, scared the crap out of me because i thought it was on the inside. After this scrapping, i noticed it wasn't focusing anymore when i went either way and as i took my hand off the focuser it pulled out and then went back into position like a dampened spring as i looked through the OTA while doing this IT FOCUSED!...which is very strange, I then turned the focuser to the left extreme and it wouldn't let me pull it back. I understand that there are two fine strings embedded past the focuser but i wasn't near any extreme on the telescope when this happened so i'm not exactly sure whats going on.

I've already sent an email to the supplier and he'll speak to the manufacturer but i was just wondering if anyone knew what was going on?
