Nice! make the most of it.
Cloud has only just rolled away here after weeks of rain, seeing not that flash tho.
Gonna try for my first glimpse of your strike and then head to bed.

No joy
Not even sure if the strike is visible right now?
Seeing wasn't as bad as first thought, maybe 5 (Pickering).
I need a barlow tho, limited to 100x but was able to clearly see Io's shadow, albeit small.
Bedtime.

It was a dusty atmosphere here yesterday/last night couldnt see anything clearly. Packed up the webcam experiment early wasnt sure if I was obtaining focus or it was the dust distorting things. Definately no joy seeing Jupiter.

The strike point wasn't visible unfortunately but I did get some reasonably good stuff of Callisto, Io, its shadow and the GRS.
Maybe the weather will be good tonight as well if we're lucky, we gat another look at the strike point later, check the front page for predicted times :-)
ps, smile! you're on camera... while I'm typing this is being filmed by the local ABC tv crew for a story next Friday on Stateline :-)
:-)
cheers, Bird

C'mon Anthony where are the images? LOL
Weather is beautiful here at the moment, I hope the seeing is good tonight. I'll be looking to capture my first image of the Bird Strike tonight, after being in Melbourne all week!! grumble grumble.

Seeing only average here right now, but I can see the impact scar just coming into view.
I can only imagine what Anthony felt when he saw it for the first time!!

yeh I gave up at about 1:20am. Seeing was terrible.
Local breeze and jetstream ruined it here.

Perth had rain again last night, but.......
Clear tonight! woohooo!
Seeing is anyones guess right now.
Strike should be coming into view in about a half hour, but for me Jup is below the horizon.
How long will it stay visible? I'd guess half a Jovian day.... but how long is that?
EDIT: Nevermind, answer is ~10h so strike should be visible for ~5h right?. I'm in luck tonight!
