Not so newbe looking to get back into star gazing

Hi all,
I've decided to get back into star gazing after a period of 10 years, I had a Celestron C8 for a few years in the late 1990's but I just could not get the hang of polar aligning and became frustrated with it and found the scope not very portable and ended up selling it in 1999. I kept up my interest via desktop astronomy but have now decided to get back outdoors.
After a bit of research I was seriously looking at the Celestron NexStar series when I stumbled upon the new Meade ETX-LS6ACF, this scope looks like everything I've been looking for, Auto alignment, portability and just about auto everything, I had a quick demo at the shop and was impressed in what I saw.
My question is does anyone have one or used one in the field? and what do you think of it?
Also I want to use it for a bit of astrophotgraphy?

Cheers
Des

Hi, welcome to forum!

The LightSwitches are brand new on the market, so new that few people have them. There is an existing thread discussing them in the Equipment section of this forum (I might try and dig it out in a sec for you...here). You might actually get a better response to your query there, since your question is essentially an Equipment question.

I'll look there, I didn't realise they were THAT new, looks like a wait and see. Des

PS how can I move my thread to the equipment section?

Alot of new scopes are just "Power On" and go. With the help of GPS and sensors, it knows where its pointing always..
