Astrotech 8" Imaging Newtonian

All,

Anyone know how I can get one of these?

The Astrotech site lists dealers for everywhere except us!

Any helpful suggestions or similar alternatives would be appreciated.

Regards,
Humayun

It's only a GS 8" f4 with a slightly different tube. Buy here and save the freight. $495 at bintel.

Thanks, guys!

Gary, is it really just a rebadged GSO? There's nothing special about it, then?

If so, I will look at your suggestion.

Cheers!

There are some differences - lower profile 2x speed Crayford, longer tube with multple baffling and larger secondary mirror that gives a 36 % CO.
Others more knowlegable will help out.

There are some differences, but it is as said. I have the Bintel N200 version, which is their "imaging" reflector. Same mirror cell, focuser, finder and bracket.
Try OPT if you wanna import, they are very nice.

Aperture is king in this case. The 200mm aperture, combined with the substantially faster f/4 optics, yield over 19x the light gathering power per pixel, assuming the same camera on each scope, taking into account the 70mm secondary obstruction.

Have a look at:

and

and

http://templec.zenfolio.com/p25234919/h10322cb0

I think after looking at those I know which I would choose.

Oh, and the OPT price, including shipping, works out to about $660AU landed. I've had accessories that cost more than that.
