mount

If i want to do time exposure with a 12inch dob. Put it on an eq6 basic mount, could i track well enough for nebs and galaxies or only just planets?????????

You'd need to guide it (for anything past say 30 - 60 seconds - read deep space objects that you mentioned) and have really solid dovetails! A focal reducer would help by lowring you focal ratio you are concentrating light (signal) above noise - so you can do deeper shots much faster (meaning drift is dimished as your exposures are quicker).
