Hay Jim,
Nice work with the 300D. Good job on the guiding! The stars look nice and round.
Andrew,
The 3.3 FR will cover a 1.5 to 2MP CCD. Then vignetting will become more of a problem. You'll need to take good flats to get rid of it.
Another important aspect is to maintain the correct back focus distance from the CCD/CMOS to the FR3.3. It should be 53mm from the optical centre of the FR3.3 otherwise it will introduce serious aberrations into your image. (Also the back focus distance of the Meade FR 6.3 is 87mm). This usually means you'll have to get custom spacers made.
Also your focus zone will be a lot harder to achieve as it’s now the 1/10 of the size of F10. E.g. 0.22mm for F10, 0.08mm for F6.3 and 0.02mm for F3.3.
Hope this helps,
Brad Moore
