Perch warning.

It made me think ones scope could make a handy perch and toilet bowl for some of our feathered friends.

At Astrofest a couple of years ago, some poor fella had his secondary shat on.
Easy to laugh at until it happens to you.

I can verify that this is a disaster waiting to happen! We have two 'gangs' of magpies, one of which congregates around my garden observatory. I made the mistake of feeding them a few times, now they arrive every time I go out the back door! Setting my scope for some cool down time always attracts their interest!

Cheers
Chris

It was the same on the balcony at my place, had all sorts of birds. I live across the water from a National Park.
Then I bought a dog and now there are no more birds. (not on the balcony anyway)
