Attaching excel spread sheets?

Just a query on the above matter.

I have a spread sheet that I created years ago on telescope info, it has user inputs that allow you to calculate what magnification you would get with any scope and eyepiece combination, the exit pupil for any eyepiece / scope combination, the true FOV for any eyepiece in any scope, limiting magnitude etc.

In replying to a post in the Beginners forum a tried to attach my excel spreadsheet but could not seem to do so, even tried attaching it to a PM but cannot seem to do so.

Tried to copy and paste it into the post, however the paste option doesn't seem to appear. Tried adding it as an attachment but it appears to be invalid.

Is it not possible to attach spreed sheets or is it just my ineptness that I cannot sort it out.

Cheers
Trevor

Excel documents themselves can't be attached, but if you zip it up using winzip, you can then attach it fine.

You also can't attach files to PM's.

Mike, Just installed Zip Genius, it's freeware. Zipped my spread sheet and tried attaching it to a posting, had no probs and it was accepted.

Didn't actually send the post, just wanted to make sure that it was initially accepted.

Thanks for the advice.
Cheers
Trevor
