Ive been thinking of making one of my garden sheds into a ROR observatory.
The shed is 4.55m by 2.25m inside. Its on a nice level slab which is 80mm bigger all round than the shed footprint. I m thinking the roof could roll back lengthwise about 2.7m. This will give plenty of sky. And i will have a dew free area for the electronics.
I hope the roof can be simply canter levered as it overhangs another shed. I dont want to brace onto the second shed if possible.
Progress is slow, first removing all the contents and storing them. Next waterproofing the wall channels at slab level. Then painting the floor.
Its actually an enjoyable exercise so far. Anyway heres a few pictures if anyone's interested.

Great stuff Brett.
I know what slow progress is all about doing mine but you will get to the end and when you do its very satisfying.
I have a few friends with roll-off roof garden shed observatories and these work great.
One of my friends put pine weatherboards across the front and sides of his this added alot of strength and gave it a really good appearance as well
The observatory is the way to go if you want to get the most out of your gear.
I have nearly finished mine, I just posted some progress photos as well tonight in this section.
