Green light for the ROR obs!

Well i have been looking for ages on how to put a pier in the back yard to assist in the accuracy of my scope setup. It was saturday night just gone and i was having a few reds with friends at a resturant... thats when my idea hit.

2 sheds ones got all my house stuff in. its 3 x 2.5 meter...? what if. so i went out side looked at it how the roof was attached and the structural side of things. So the minister of War and finance and the second in charge where consulted. only condition is I host a garage sale! So i have a 3 x 2.5 meter shed that basically needs to be "Modded" aka make the roof a ROR design and im in!

Below are some photos of the sacraficial lamb any comments ideas of what would be good, would be great

Amazing what ideas are born with the right stimulus
All the best with the endeavours, will be good to see the progress.

Ive been looking at the lamb a bit harder now alls well but for all that have a ROR obs how do you guys seal the roof to the walls.? when the roof is closed.? we don't wan't any of that nasty water getting in.

the only way i could think about it is have a Z shaped perlin that comes up on the inside and drapes over the outside so any water that pushed its way past would simply get pushed back out. mmmm. Well clean out should happen in this next week or so depending on rain (bloody winter) so i can look at what needs to be done oh and a update with size 3m *3m * 1.9m (top of wall)

To help keep out the elements, you could look at using "weather strips" between the walls and the perlin overhang. It is available at hardware stores.

For the roof edge that has to travel over the wall, maybe use a hinged perlin so that it 'flips up' over the walls' edge.

I hope you have a big enough can opener to remove the roof, .
