Hi from Un Zud

Just registered so thought I'd better say Hi.

I am a TOTAL numpty at this stage...although I think I can recognise the Sun & Moon which I guess helps.

Waiting for my scope to arrive from USA. I have just purchased:
Meade ETX-90 Telescope.
Meade manual hand controller.
Autostar 497 Controller with manual.
Flexi-Focus extended focus knob.
26 mm Meade Super Plossl Eyepiece with plastic bolt case and box.
2X Meade Barlow Lens in box
Meade 8X21 finder
Orion 6X30 Correct image right angle finder with mounting bracket.

Can't wait to get it started as we have a beach place where the light pollution is quite low and I have often seen satellites with the naked eye.

Stand by for lots of questions and I have yet to join a local group for on the spot advice.

Alan

Thanks - its used but my research said it was good at the price. No doubt I'll find lots of other "goodies" to add to it later on but it should do me for a while. I suspect a decent tripod will be high on my list...thanks Ebay!!

Now I need to get a copy of Stellarium and start to bone up on whats out there

Hi Alan

to IIS

It looks like a good scope you are getting. should be nice and easy to transport to your beach place.

Cheers
