Campsite shots

Hi,

Haven't had much of a chance lately to photograph due to the cloud cover at home, so when I went camping last weekend decided to see what I could get with the camera.
Didn't take the scope gear as it was full moon (and nowhere to fit it) so just went with the 40D and assorted lens's.

1st one is a campfire shot with the southern milky way in view. Used the 10-22m lens for this.
2nd was a quick grab and shoot when I spotted the full moon rising above the road into the campsite. Didn't quite get the exposure right for the moon as its amazing how quickly it rises when you trying to fiddle around with settings. Used the 75-300mm (@300).

Wasn't sure which section to post these but chose Solar System as there is a full moon shot. If its better to be in another section then am happy for it to be moved.

The first image is my favourite. The clouds, the reflection of the fire on the trees, the milky way, very nice.
Thanks for posting.

Nice photos Brett.
I am with JJ, the first one is a beauty.

Next time if you dont take your scope, you will have to make room for a pair of bino's
