Smile M17 Ha Repro

Slight repro of previous post .... I ran it through Lucy-Richardson deconvolution filter and re blended it a touch. I haven't used a deconvolution filter before so be kind.

I've included previous version as well to allow for direct comparison of result of decon filter and retouch.

Nice one Steve.

I am somewhat of a fan of limited deconvolution. Its a bit like unsharp mask which I rarely use - a little bit goes a loing way. I think also it works best like any processing on already good data.

I'd say its one reason why Johannes Schedler's images have such tiny stars. Apart from the fact he must have great optics I suspect he hammers the deconvolution hard but to great effect.

I click on the star which gives the lowest FWHM to start the routine. That appears to work well and I use about 40-60 iterations (runs).

I often use it on all LRGB masters. Smaller stars always look more appealling than larger stars as a general rule in an image.

Greg.

Glad you like it Greg ... I only did 10 iterations and everything set to auto basically to see how things turned out ... I like the result.
