24/10/05 Lightening in Coombell

Managed a couple of snaps (and missed lots more) during some storm action
early this evening.

Canon Powershot A85

both 15 sec exposures ISO 100 & 200 respectively. No processing except one pass with the sharpening tool on the second image, both have been shrunk and compressed to upload here.

Oooop's reposted the second one, with the right one, still the same one.... did ya get that?

Regards,CS

The first shot is an absolute ripper. Looks like you certainly had the camera pointing in the right place at the right time!

Thanks again guy's

Actually I sent it off the the local newspaper and they are publishing it in tomorrow
paper up here. Cool never had a pic published in a newspaper before.

Paul, I didn't bother processing for processing sake as I dont think it really needs it
and wont really improve it, whats there to improve? Yes you could process it till the
cows come home, All you will do is make it look different, and then you take away the
natural look to the image and thats what I like to try and capture.

Thanks for the comments everybody, to think I took that image while sitting watching
TV with camera out on the window sill behind me lol

regards,CS

Ken,

Yes well I could always say, where the hell did Venus go it was sitting there a minite ago. Actually it probably wasn't to far off from where Venus is/was/maybe lol

Actually I posted it to another forum and if I can quote Carol Widger I think I have found a title/caption for it "Looks like the Hand of Hell reaching out to grab you in a flash!!"
