my first photo with camera lens.
Canon 50mm f/1.8 @ f/4
10 x 1 min @ iso 1600 with Canon 400D
G11 guided with Orion Autoguider and PhD
pic2 a lot easier on the processing that l prefer.

That looks like the very first astrophotograph I ever took. Of the same field!

How do you find the Orion autoguider on the G-11?

I've got my G-11 in full now and am dying to put my 5D Mark II and 200mm f/2.8L II USM lens on it, to capture reflection nebulae and star clusters.

hi Humayan, apart from a few very minor issues it has worked well straight out of the box, very fast calibration and easy to use.

ts a bit hard to determine the quality with the 200kb allowed, give us a 1:1 snip of the most interesting bit.

It's a ripper little lens. It doesn't seem to have as much coma as mine though. Luckieeeee.

Nice first image with the new lens Mick. Practice will improve both capture and processing. I just wonder if 800 instead of 1600 ISO may be an improvement.

thanks Doug, l find the processing of wide field images harder than those with specific detail such as M42.

Looking at both pics, I'd be happy with either.
The post processing I'm getting to feel is a matter of personal preference. We all view these images and interpret them in our own way.

SImply process the way you like and let the rest of us enjoy your work.

I think it's just brilliant that you can look at heaps of images of the same object and get differing perspective and data in each capture.

Keep posting these entrancing widefields!
