300mm Reflector
I have for sale a 300mm f4.5 reflector built by myself in 2006.
The tube is aprox 350mm dia, the weight of the beast would be over 50kg, therefore only pick up would be possible. I machined the gears from cast iron with bronze for the worms. The worms can be swung clear of the large gears to allow quick slewing, and they are connected by flexible shafts. She comes complete with telrad finder plus a 9 X 50 finder. Optically she performs very well, with increasing old age I find it very difficult to manhandle the beast.
The asking price is only $600.00, hardly what I paid for the mirror and diagonal.
