First image from new 70-200mm lens

I recently purchased a Canon 70-200mm F/4L lens for my 40D.

Haven't had a chance to really test it out yet...but an opportunity presented itself this morning.

This little bird (I think it's a Butcher Bird) has become a regular visitor to our back deck. We think it's on the search for geckos, which are in abundance at our place.

I quickly grabbed the lens and took some shots at distance.

Quite happy with this....

That's a great image matt, Canon sure do make excellent L series lenses. I remember when I checked out one of the first photos that I took with my 70-200 and I was thinking to myself "ah yes, now I can see where the money went". Sensational.

Now, point that lens up at the sky tonight

Great shot. It brings back memories of the amazing shots I used to be able to get with my 70-200 F/4L on my EOS 300 film camera. These days they are much more rare, a combination of
- clear glass fitler on the front for protection, I'm sure it must detract!
- 350D which has a tiny view finder for focusing
- opportunities to use it

Enjoy it!
