Living In 2009

A Sequel to Leon's Thread,
" Growing up in the 40's, 50's etc.

YOUKNOW YOU ARE LIVING IN 2009 when...

1. You accidentally enteryour PIN on the microwave.

2. You haven't played solitaire withreal cards in years.

3. You have a list of 15 phone numbers toreach your family of three.

4. You e-mail the person who works atthe desk next to you.

5. Your reason for not staying in touchwith friends and family is that they don't have e-mail
addresses.

6. You pull up in your own driveway and use your cellphone to see if anyone is home to help you carry in thegroceries.

7. Every commercial on television has a web site at the bottom of the screen.

8. Leaving the house without your cell phone, which you didn't even have the first 20 or 30 (or 60) years of your life, is now a cause for panic and you turn around to go and get it.

10. You get up in the morning and go on line before getting your coffee.

11. You start tilting your head sideways to smile. : )

12. You're reading this and nodding and laughing.

13. Even worse, you know exactly to whom you are going to forward this message.

14. You are too busy to notice there was no #9 on this list.

15. You actually scrolled back up to check that there wasn't a #9 on this list.

Cheers Marty

Hey Jen,

I had an inkling that you'd be one for sure.

I must confess I am guilty of several but don't tell anyone.

Cheers Marty

As those who know me know, I live in a '70's time warp. Geez, I have trouble remembering what year it is when I have to date things.
But I can relate to many on this list.
Especially number 10.
I'm online first thing in the morning and I have to check in again just before heading off to bed.
Not mentioning the dozen other times I log in during the day.

Relate to it well.
"Information overload" and how to fill our world with increasingly meaningless "necessities".

Here's another one ...
You have that many passwords and PIN numbers you have to write them down, but not in the same place for security reasons. Then forget where you put that stupid bit of paper the password was on.

Regards, Rob.

Guilty of a few but not all.

I agree with the passwords, I have that many that I had to type them all on a A4 page. theres no way I can remember them all.

Hey Jen,

Done Deal

Hey Ric,

Use the same password for everything but just change or add one character.
ie. Email account "phonee". The 'o' can be a zero.
Phone account "phonem". or phoneh1.

I always lose password records so I commit them to memory.

Cheers Marty

Good idea Marty, I'll have a better chance of remembering everything that way.

Cheers
