Eta Aquarids today

I observed for 1.5 hours this morning starting from 3:15am before the clouds rolled in (and the fog!).

I counted 17 in total radiating fron Aquarius and three from Sagittarius.

All except one were faint, all were whitish blue with a hint of green, most left behind faint trails and all were very fast.

I will try again tomorrow morning weather permiting.

According to Astronomy 2009 they're supposed to peak tomorrow (6th). Forecast for our neck of the woods is looking a little more promising than today so I might drag myself out of bed and have a look.

Hi guys,
I watched this shower last year, i was surprised to see so many head on ones like a flashing point of light, they go pretty quick!
Don't discount the head-on ones!

Climbed out of bed at about three. Setup my 200mm newt on the eq6 to got some nice views of Jupiter.

I counted about 7 meteors in total between 4.50am and 5.20am. About three very bright coming from northeast to north and some fainter ones northeast to south.

The fog rolled in at about 5.20am but still had good view of the crescent phase of Venus.

FRom my backyard this morning between 3:30am to 5:00am saw only 3 Aquarids.I was in & out a few times though,watching Man U v Arsenal.Thay were fast moving...I mean the meteors(players were fast too!) Heavy fog rolled in after 5am. Hm.... need dark skies.

I left my camera taking wide field shots of the eastern horizon (up to zenith) from 11:30pm last night until 7am when I got up this morning.

I can't find a single meteor in the shots.

So either I needed to set the camera to much more sensitive setting (it was ISO 200 @ F/5.6, doing 5 minute exposures continuously), or there was no meteors to speak of.

I would have expected anything vaguely bright to be caught in the photo's - all the stars down to quite faint are filling the FOV, but no meteors.

I think the only thing faster than the Aquarids was Ronaldo's free kick! As an Arsenal fan it's a shame but I think Man U played really well.

I woke up at 4.30 to have a look at the Aquarids but felt the onset of a migraine... not good! So back to bed it was. Will check them out soon though.

I seen this metero shower 2 nights ago i only seen 2 the first one was a bright yellow fireball and the second was in my eye piece when i was trying to find neptune
