Anyone bought from "www.telescopes-astronomy.com.au" ?
Hi all
I've been trying to call these guys to get a threaded 1.25" adapter for a Philips ToUcam ( http://www.telescopes-astronomy.com....am_philips.htm ) but can't get an answer from them yet. Has anyone bought anything from them before? Are they operational?
If anyone could tell me where else I could go to get the same thing?
Cheers
Chris

Hi Chris, I'm not sure what the story is but for some reason it is hard to get hold of Matthew at times. If you have tried emailing and phoning and you have no luck then you can try Steve Mogg at Mogg Adapter

Thanks Paul
I'll keep trying Matthew then, and if no response I'll give the other address a go.
Cheers!

Matt can be slow responding to emails at times, but try giving him a call.
I've bought several webcams from him (ToUcam and DMK) so they are definitely operation.

I've also had problems getting in touch with Matthew. Once you do though, service is good.

I've generally dealt with Matthew on the phone. I usually have more luck talking to him after lunch NSW time, and if no go I call on his mobile (number's on his webpage).
I have also dealt with Steven Mogg as Paul suggested. Both are suppliers I would recommend.

Matthew has been fairly busy of late, sometimes it does take a while toget though to him,but he does try. Saw him last weekend at an astronomy meet we had here in SA. He runs his business on his own to my knowledge so he gets quite busy runing aound etc.... Keep tying, you can always give him a call too.

I just spent $5000 with someone else because I couldn't get him on the phone for a week, and he takes a week to answer emails.... Me thinks some more thought into his business strategy is needed....
He is helpful on the phone when you can catch him - thats the tough bit though!

I agree with the others, whilst Matthew is difficult to get hold of, his service is good, once the order has been placed. Personally, I would rather get a voice at the other end of the phone, that's why Bintel, Andrews and My Astro shop get almost all of my business.

Jeez... I give up. I've been trying BOTH Matthew and Steve Mogg all day - emails and phone calls - no answer on any front. I guess that after living in the States for years I've come to expect instant consumer gratification - which was available there no matter what you wanted... and when.
Does anyone else do these adapters or am I going to have to go stateside to get one?

I agree. Every time I go down to their Glebe store they are fantastic. They are equally good to me over the phone. I just hope that they have these adapters at a reasonable price.....

I have purchased a few things for the DSI II through Stephen Mogg as well. He was a bit hard to catch on the phone so I organised everything via email and posted a money order to him, still took less than a week from start to finish.
cheers

I just managed to get through to Matthew - and he was, as people have mentioned, great on the phone. Please excuse my earlier brashness, but when I'm in a hurry.... I guess I'm always in too much of a hurry...
All good now

I wouldn't apologise - I think Matthew could get some tips to improve his bottom line by reading here, he is losing sales because people can't get on to him easily enough. From everything I've heard he *is* great to deal with, when you catch him.....

Just how hard does this have to be? He promised it would be here for this coming weekend, and it has still not arrived by today. That's 11 days from trying to inquire to now - delivery from Perth - so far. Very dissapointing. Jeez - it's only a tiny little webcam adapter - not a 200lb box!
The unit's price was $55.00, yet $61.00 was charged to my card - which means that the postage cost $6.00 which should have had it here overnight!
I don't like to complain normally, but I'm not happy, Jack!

you can try fair trading ohhh i gave u an idea. Im sure there are guidelines with operating a business. If matthew doesnt meet with industry standards, he will loose his trading licence simple.
personally, i have nothing against matt. i have purchased items off him without any problems. although i have to admit, he is very hard to get hold of.
