90mm Octagonal achromat

I have previously posted pictures of this ota. I recently made a tripod for the Vixen GPD2 and have been able to use the scope with slow motion controls as opposed to the previous alt-az set-up.

The ota uses 4mm gaboon marine ply. The hardwood is tassie oak. Lens is an Antares 90/1500 from Hands on Optics. Focuser, diagonal, 40mm eyepiece and 8x50 finder are all GSO parts.

Thanks Phil

The other scope is a 6" f15 reviewed here on Ice in Space under D&G achromat lens in review section.

Lovely, I appreciate the handiwork that has gone into these.
Silly as it may sound, did you consider "wooden converting" the finder and finder bracket/mount?

Thats a nice idea Gary but to be honest my skills are not that great and my time is restricted. Have you heard of Normand Fullam from Canada? He does wooden scopes as a profession and does incredible work if you like that sort of thing. http://www.normandfullumtelescope.com/home_en.html

Yeah, I have seen them. Some are OK, but others I have seen have definitely been over the top, big time.
