The CN forum is buzzing with this. Apparently, the dec shaft is thicker as well. The UK dealers ad's showing the 300mm Newtonian on the EQ6,
but the ad saying this is a NEQ6. Obviously their not received the new unit yet. It would be interesting to see a real picture of it. Any inside info from Andrew's?

I was trying to google for it and all pictures I could find actually show a EQ6 Pro mount.

If it's just about a Losmandy saddle plate mounted on top of EQ6 Pro mount you can actually do it by replacing an original Vixen style head with EQ6 Losmandy Head

cheers,

Mike

Hmm, from what I can find out, it's the existing EQ6 with a losmandy-type head and a longer balance weight shaft.
Both the RA and DEC shafts on the EQ6 are about 40mm diameter.
If they improved the quality of the bearings and set the preload correctly, these mounts would be much better.

pardon my ignorance, but what's the advantage with the Losmandy-style saddle plate?

The Losmandy-style dovetail is wider than the Vixen dovetail. If properly implemented, a Losmandy-style dovetail plate will be stronger and steadier than a Vixen-style plate.

I believe you can also get a longer replacement counterweight shaft (I think star Optics offered me one when I bought the mount).

Went to Bintel this last Thursday and bought myself an EQ6 Pro GO-TO mount.
Upon opening the packaging it turned out I scored myself an NEQ6 Pro GO-TO instead.
Googled the NEQ6 a few times and all I get is info relating to the EQ6.
Still unable to get any solid info on the NEQ6 Pro.

User UK1 (Rob) just got his EQ6 mount from Bintel and it states "NEQ6" on the side plates. I was over his house today admiring it!.

I don't know alot about EQ6's but IMHO the Top plate was definitely a vixen dovetail size fit and was not any wider like a Losmandy dovetail. He has a vixen dovetail & rings & these fitted fine no room either side.

Still....a very nice mount indeed.
