A great place for a holiday in Vic

I do a bit of travelling for work. For people who can get there, the following beach is across the road from a B+B where I spent 5 weeks last year. Cape Bridgewater is just past Portland, and with a protected beach like this, it's a great family spot.

Where abouts is it (or Portland)?

I'm heading down Vic way for the Ballarat star party.. down to the 12 apostles and back up the great ocean rd. Looks like a lovely place to visit, if I'm anywhere near the area.

Yep indeed, you can spend a day or two just checking out the apostles, loch ard gorge and Port Campbel areas.

Not to mention Cape Otway, Beech Forest etc.

Mike! You better spend 2 weeks down there.. You can use my mothers caravan at Ocean Grove as a base.

Portland, the visual paradise of the west, from the wind farms at Codrington to the whale flukes in Portland Bay, from Cape Nelson all the way to the Glenelg River, this place is awsome, and so is the fishing

Cape Bridgewater is a very nice spot and has a great walk out to the cliffs and the seal colony, it's a bit of a trek though.

Shelly Beach to the east of Bridgwater is also great for a stroll on the beach.

A couple of pics from a trip this year.

The Glenelg River at Nelson has a ferry boat that cruises upstream and explores the wild sections of this mighty river, and has great fishing

It is definately worth the effort to see this part of Victoria.

Did i say the fishing's good

The Great Ocean Road would have to be one of the best coast lines i have seen.
