Sunset over the Birubi Beach Sand Dunes

The sand dunes at Birubi Beach are just stunning. With the right light it’s almost impossible to take a bad photo of these wonderful objects of nature. And so it was in December 2008 when the sunset painted just the right light on the wind-swept ripples in the sand, creating a wonderful scene to capture.

These photos were taken during my family’s christmas holidays at the end of 2008. I’m glad I finally found the time to finish processing these - it reminded me of what a beautiful location it was.

Please click the link to see the rest of the photos from the impromptu sunset shoot.

Thanks for looking.

Thanks Phil.
They were all taken with the Canon 350D and Sigma 17-70mm lens.

Hi Mike,

Stunning images indeed.
Love the colours of the sunset on the clouds and how it highlights the patterns and texture of the sand. really does look to be an idyllic location. Must have been a top spot for a relaxing getaway.

Regards
Trevor

You've really got a way with sunsets Mike.

Love the sand patterns around the driftwood.
But the first one is my favourite, the contrast of colours is superb.

Mike,

What a great set of shots!

Is that first one an HDR composition? I also had a look at the rest of the images on your blog. The one of your family jumping in the sand a la a Toyota commercial is wonderful.

My pick, however, is shot number three, that you've presented here. Just about perfect.

Regards,
Humayun

Thanks Andrew and H!
Appreciate the feedback.

And yes H, the first one is a HDR composite.
