NGC 2057/58/65 etc

Very remote open clusters in the LMC that look like globulars.

There are at least 10 clusters in the field so I suppose it is an image of a cluster of clusters.

Synthetic luminance (R+G+B), 50m R, 50m G, 50m B, BRC-250,
ST-X10ME.

Fabulous image Steven.

You may be interested to know Tak is going to revamp the BRC with a carbon fibre tube, secondary focuser (so what) and an extender and reducer available to make F8 and F3.6.

The F3.6 suffers with spot star sizes going from 4 microns centre to 20 at the edge whereas the other variants like the current model have super sharp resolution centre to edge that is somewhat unmatched by any other scope.

But at the end of the day I am wondering if a TOA 1.6 extender and a Tak reducer are the same as what they are planning for the F ratio variants. I may get a 1.6 extender and try it out. I already have a few Tak reducers I will experiment with and let you know. I'll try the FSQ106ED one first as that is a .75X reducer.

Greg.

Thanks Greg.

That's interesting news about the 1.6X extender.
I've always wanted more FL for the BRC-250.

Regards

Steven
