kingfisher in flight

thanks for yor kind comments Mike

and everyone, here is a pic i took in our garden of a sacred kingfisher,

they nest in ant mounds on the trees, close to home

according to the bird books, they migrate from northern Australia,to around

S.E QLD in spring and summer, then go back mid March

There is another kingfisher that does the same, called azure kingfisher

i know where they nest, along the banks of brisbane river, near Moore

they are magnificent blue, will try for a pic of them next season

cheers Chris

Hi Chris

Very nicely captured, a beautiful and dynamic shot of this colourful bird.

The water bath pedestal reminds me a little of your rather ornate, cast iron, observatory pedestal!

Cheers

Dennis

Very well captured Chris,

Beautiful bird in a lovely setting. The splash of the water really looks great and getting the bird to oblige with such a nice profile was excellent.

Regards
Trevor
