Seeker,
Sue French has just written a book - "Celestial Sampler: 60 Small-Scope Tours for Starlit Nights". I'll see if I can find out how many of the tours are visible from these latitudes.

I subscribe to both Aussie mags, but I saw the new S&S at the newsagents today but it's not in my letterbox yet.

I am purely a newsagent buyer - dont want any scrunched up damaged wet letter box versions - i like mine in mint condition - i even go thru the stack at the newsagent and find the best condition one sad!
and its not like S&S has really anymore competiton than they did before, seeing the US version is off the stands. i can tell you from my 10 year long experience with several astro friends - they usually always bought the S&T first/more often than bought S&S (when available). They arent astro mag addicts like me tho. I even have 3 or 4 issues of the old Southern Astronomy as well - that was an excellent mag
