The jump starter pack is all you need for home or field use. I don't bother with 240V for mine at home just the 17 Ah battery pack like the one you found, and just remember to charge it from time to time. As a foot note though you might save yourself a few dollars by trying your local Supa Cheap Autos. I have no affiliation with them but I do know the value of a dollar.
Okay mate I will do. Thanks for your time, as you probably guessed I know nothing about electricity except that taking a bath with a toaster is NOT good.
Cheers mate
For what it's worth, you can't really have a "maximum" Amp rating as such. The mount will use only as much current (Amps) as it needs, so if you were to use a (say) 12V, 150 Amp power supply, the EQ6 will still consume no more than 2 Amps.
If you try to use a power supply which cannot deliver the Amps your EQ6 mount needs, the RA motor will whirr, then click, then stop, and the red power LED will blink at you merrily. I know this from experience!
Okay I get it now. I thought an amp rating meant it jammed in that amount of Amps all the time, but it means that it can supply up to that amount of Amps current draw. Do you know how much it consumes at max slew with both motors going? Zaps is a great name for a guy giving electrical advice too. Thanks muchly :-)
