For those with the Sirius Optics Viewing Tent

http://www.sirius-optics.com.au/viewing%20tent.htm I managed to get the last tent in Australia for a while - but here is the catch I need to get an inner circle rod. I know the opening is 2 metres in diameter and the rod is 8 segments.
What I need to know is how long the segments are and the rod diameter and fittings? I know i can get one made up locally. Anyone help and be able to provide a picture of the tube ad fittings?

Hi Dave

Just an observation – I recollect someone at Qld Astrofest who had one of these explaining that one of the rods was shorter than the rest. This was a clue where to begin to “break” the rod assembly when dismantling the tent.

Otherwise, it wasn’t obvious which were the 2 "free" ends as all the other pole segments were joined by an internal elasticated cord.

Cheers

Dennis
