More NGC 2070 action

Hi all,

I'm still messing around with the field flattener, stars are a bit strange around the edges. Maybe I will figure it out one day. Anyway, Last night I pointed the little scope with the modded 350D towards NGC 2070 to see how I'd go.

12 x 10 mins, 350D (modified), ICNR off, ISO800, 12 darks, no flats.

ED80 with WO 0.8x FR/FF

Nice field of view!

Focus and guiding look spot on! Could possibly have done with some flats but a very nice image nonetheless!

Biggest problem with shots from around the LMC or SMC is that they have to be resized so small, and compressed to hell to fit on the forums.. My wide field tarantula shot is about 35% larger in file size than any other image I have...

Great shot Michael!

Thanks for the comments guys,

Yep, squeezing the files down is a killer. Alex, I agree with the flats, next time there will be flats taken. Interestingly this run was the first time that I took darks rather than using ICNR, I'm slowly getting there.

I think in many ways ICNR can be better than darks, excepting that you take darks just pre dawn and maximise overall exposure time during the night... ICNR generally works as well as darks...
