Scare

Hi All,
I just had the living daylights scared out of me.
I have a small Grandfather clock mounted on the wall just above the computer.
I stopped the pendulum,a year ago right on 5 o'clock, as the hourly striking was driving me mad,and havent heard a peep out of it since.
I had just been out looking at Orion, the Pleiades,m41,etc with a pair of Binos,
Sat down at the computer, and the Damn clock struck the 5 hour, and almost gave me a Coronary.
Didn't do our pet Cockatiel any good either,as he Screamed, and flew around the cage in a fit.
The Clock will be removed to the Shed in the morning.
I need to go change.
Regards.John

lol there's ghosts in the clock John!

I think you have to seal the clock in a metal box and bury it 6 feet under surrounded by garlic and silverware.

Hi All,
Mike,
you might be right about the ghosts, the clock belonged to my Father who passed away about 16 years ago,we rarely saw eye to eye,so he might have had the last word after all,
I think it was about 2.30am,and everything was dead quiet, when it went off,it was the last thing I expected to make a racket, since there hadn't been a peep out of it for at least a year.
Peter,
To be honest I was a little concerned about our Cockatiel,I dont know who got the biggest fright, him or me,But he seems ok this morning.
It was a terrible sound, more like a strangled cat, rather than the bell like sound a chime makes.
Regards.John
