ISS and STS-119 passing between Crux and eta Carina

Hi all,

Here's a quick shot of the ISS with docked shuttle passing over Brisbane this morning. The predicted mag on Heavens Above was -1.2 but it looked brighter than that. Maybe H A did not take into account the brightness of the attached shuttle? Anyway, it was an impressive sight! This is a 15 sec exposure using the K100D and 70-300mm telephoto at f/5.6 and 400 iso.

Cheers,
Stephen

Nice shot Stephen. We had a beautiful -2.3 pass overhead here, was very bright.

I caught a few frames but my shutter speed wasn't fast enough.
Will post some later.

Nice shot Stephen. Heaps of high clouds here but it was bright when it rises from NW.

Thanks guys.

I'm glad I was able to catch them this morning, after missing out due to clouds yesterday (this is the first time I've seen both together). I'm amazed how bright it was given that it was 700km away according to Heavens Above.

Cheers,
Stephen
