imaging when moon up?

I was wondering if anyone could tell me the type of filter I need to DSLR photograph when the moon is up and which would be the best brand if price didn't matter too much...

A moon filter

Seriously there isn't a lot you can do about the moon. Some people image through narrowband filters and this will get rid of most of the moon glow but I don't think narrow band imaging is very good with a DSLR.
I use the moon time to take photometry images and measure variable stars as the moon has much less effect on this because you subtract the sky background before measuring the brightness of the star.

Or you could take pics of the moon instead whilst waiting for it to go away.

Hi Peter,

I'm not sure about DSLR sensitivity, but it doesn't seem to
really affect my imaging, at least not monochrome imaging anyway.

This is from suburban Adelaide sky....albeit using a 12" lightbucket
and the camera I bought from your's truly

regards,
Steve B.
